In May 2024, I spent a few sunny days exploring San Francisco and couldn’t have asked for better weather. The skies were clear, the temperatures were just right, and the city had a laid-back, welcoming energy. I hit all the must-see spots—walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, riding the iconic cable cars, and taking in sweeping views from Twin Peaks. Fisherman’s Wharf was buzzing with activity, and a trip out to Alcatraz added a fascinating, slightly eerie glimpse into the city’s past.
I made sure to wander through some of the city’s most distinct neighbourhoods—Chinatown’s vibrant streets, the Mission’s colourful murals and great food, and Haight-Ashbury’s vintage charm. Golden Gate Park offered a peaceful break from the busy streets, and the constant sunshine made every part of the city feel bright and full of life. May turned out to be the perfect time to visit—San Francisco was in full swing, and the mix of iconic sights, great weather, and diverse neighbourhoods made it a trip to remember.
